Star TV and Ekta Kapoor bury the hatchet?

Everyone was taken by surprise when Star Plus wound up two of Balaji Telefilms' longest running shows- Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki. This apparently brought an end to a decade old association and that Kapoor dragged the channel to the court didn't help matters. However, she withdrew the case later. Post the winding up of the two K-soaps, the production house launched two more shows - Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil and Tujh Sang Preet Lagayi Sajana, originally launched in the prime-time slot but later were shifted to the afternoon slot and apparently, according to sources this soured the relationship even further. Later the two shows too ended abruptly. But now it seems the channel and the production house have decided to start afresh. It is buzzed that Ekta Kapoor is making a show for Star One. A source informs, "It seems that the two parties have waved the peace flag. She is soon going to launch a show on Star One and it wouldn't be surprising to see Balaji soaps on Star Plus soon. The serial is adapted from the novel titled Twilight which was also made into a movie. The story is about a girl who falls in love with a vampire. The deal with the channel is finalised but the only problem Balaji is facing is the finalising of the cast. The production house is apparently looking for all new yet talented faces, and that's proving difficult. Star One is tipped to be re-launching with this show and so the production house is expected to have everything in place. The channel might even launch it sometime in mid- March." A source from the production house adds, "It's true that Ekta is toying with the idea of making a show based on Twilight. Her friends told her about the novel; she was so impressed that she decided to make a show based on it." Kapoor however denied the buzz. All attempts to reach Star One's officials were futile. Kapoor is also making a show based on novelist Ved Prakash's bestseller Keshav Pandit for Zee TV. Seems like shows based on literature is the new television trend as shows like Uttaran, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and Laapataganj too are a work of literature.
