MUMBAI : Nia Sharma is a huge name in the entertainment business and she has been around for more than a decade.

Her debut show Ek Hazaron Main Meri Behna Hai on Star Plus was a huge success and the audience loved her as Manvi.

Post that she was part of many successful shows like Ishq Mein Marjawan, Naagin, Jamai Raja and Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki.

She was also seen in the reality shows Khatron Ke Khiladi and Khatron Ke Khiladi India where she was the winner of the show.

These days she is grabbing the headlines as he would be playing the lead in COLORS upcoming show ' Suhagan Chudail' and the fans are excited to see her in the show as she is coming back on television after a long break.

TellyChakkar got in touch with Nia and asked her why she rejects so many projects and is the look for her new show similar to Naagin.

Why were you rejecting so many roles all this while?

I don’t like the word rejection it’s just that certain times you don’t connect to a character and then times have changed like, a few years back when I did Ek Hazaron Main Meri Behna Hai or Jamai Raja that time those serials were accepted and I have made my mark with these shows, but nowadays show gets over in two – three months there are no TRPs on television and hence I didn’t want to do any show that wouldn’t do any good to my career and this was the only reason why I wasn’t taking much shows and when you read a role you know if the show will work or no.

Even with Suhagan Chudail it wasn’t an easy ‘Yes’ but I knew the character was written for me as the number of meetings and calls they with me showed that effort. After seven meetings I relaise that I wouldn’t allow anyone to take this role as I invested so much time in it and when someone wants you to do the role then you should understand and it was a back on comeback.

Do you think the look of this show resembles the serial Naagin which you were also a part off?

To be honest, it’s a fantasy show because Naagin has seven seasons and this is the first season hence you’ll be comparing it with the looks and the dress. This is a show where ‘Shringar’ matters the most and it has power in it and the Indianiness and traditional look will always be there and when Audience will see you'll come to know it is nothing similar to the show Naagin.

Well, there is no doubt that the fans are super excited for Nia in the show.
