MUMBAI: This Sunday at 9:30 pm, Sony Entertainment Television’s homegrown kids singing reality show, ‘Superstar Singer 3’, will welcome the king of melody, ‘Kumar Sanu’. In a heartfelt tribute to the music maestro, the talented young contestants will bring alive the magic of his iconic songs with their performances in the special episode titled ‘Namaste 90’s’. So, brace yourselves for some beautiful melodies combined with treasured memories as Kumar Sanu will share interesting anecdotes about his musical journey in Bollywood.
The 14 year old, Shubh Sutradhar from Siliguri, will captivate one and all with his beautiful rendition of the timeless classic, 'Sambhala Hai Maine' and 'Main Duniya Bhoola Dunga' . This soul stirring performance earned the little dynamite a standing ovation.
Praising Shubh, Super Judge Neha Kakkar shared, “Kumar Sanu da has a unique style, and we all agree that there can be no one like him. His voice and songs are inseparable. You can only imagine his voice in his songs, but today Shubh you performed on Sir’s song and you sang both the songs so well. The best part was that you sang Sanu da’s song in your own style; which sounded so beautiful. You didn’t try to copy Sanu da. You added your own flavour to the song, creating a new version that I would love to hear it again in your voice."
Adding to this, the legendary Kumar Sanu shared, “Shubh’s performance was fantastic and extraordinary. I am so glad he didn’t imitate my voice and sang in his own style; it was really good to hear him sing. By adding his own voice, he did something I have always done. I have always sung Kishore da's songs and adapted his style of singing and acting, but I have always given my own touch to it. Shubh, my advice to you is that you can follow whoever you admire, but don't imitate their voice. Don’t adopt their vocal rather it’s always better to adapt their style of singing. The way Shubh sang today, this is how a singer is born. And, Shubh you have a long way to go. God bless you. "
