MUMBAI: Tanvi Shewale, who plays the complex and emotional role of Roshni in Udne Ki Aasha, believes that the daily commitment required in television is what makes it so special. “Yes, TV is a demanding medium. Daily soaps connect you with the audience every single day, and I think that’s an amazing thing,” she says, reflecting on the deep bond actors form with their viewers.
Tanvi recalls how fans often react with joy and disbelief when they see her in person. “They’re like, ‘Oh my God, you’re right in front of us!’ That connection is so real. Over time, the audience starts seeing you as a family member,” she shares.
Speaking about the influence of television on real life, she adds, “People even try to imitate what they see on TV. That’s why I feel it’s important to show both sides — the consequences of doing something wrong, and the value of doing the right thing.”
Playing a gray-shaded character, Tanvi is no stranger to both praise and criticism. “Social media does bring in negative comments. But I don’t let them get to me. I focus on the positive — the people who appreciate the performance even if they don’t like the character,” she explains.
Tanvi also credits her family as her biggest emotional anchor. “I go home and ask my mom what she thought of a scene. Her feedback really matters to me,” she smiles. “Appreciation helps you grow. It boosts your confidence and tells you where you’re improving.”
For Tanvi, the love from co-stars also makes all the difference. “There’s no competition on our set. We all support one another and share a strong off-screen bond. That chemistry really reflects on screen.”
As the storyline intensifies in Udne Ki Aasha, Tanvi hints at big developments ahead. “Something exciting is always around the corner — whether it’s Tejas, Roshni, or Renu, there’s always something brewing,” she adds.
