MUMBAI: Arman Rathod, a new budding star from Gujarat, is a great find on TikTok. His one-minute dance performances have impressed only his fanbase of 4.7 million, but also a lot of celebrities. Terence Lewis, fascinated by Rathod’s talent, has offered him a scholarship worth 3 lakh at his Terence Lewis Professional Training Institute which is a 1 year Diploma course for budding professionals. Arman Rathod appeared on Terence Lewis’s feed & was blown away by his performances. Terence Lewis went through his entire profile to track his entire journey, from the first video that he had made. “What’s great is that he's not just a one song, or one video wonder. It is amazing to see his consistency and his ability to move in different styles, be it hip-hop, contemporary or Bollywood,” said Lewis. What he loves about Rathod is that there’s a certain kind of “rawness” and still a sort of refined quality which marks the kind of talent Terence Lewis looks out for while giving scholarships at his institute to deserving students.

He says that the biggest challenge, especially because we are such a large country, is to notice and cultivate real and raw talent. This was the biggest hurdle, and thanks to social media right now, so many talented people are being seen directly, instead of going through intermediaries such as casting agents. Right now, the middlemen have been eliminated, and Lewis believes that the industry can see talent for what it is, giving people an equal opportunity. “Social media today has become a platform of equal opportunity & empowers people to put their best foot forward or get noticed by people, and if they do it consistently, they have the possibility of becoming famous on their own platform. So it’s a win-win situation in whichever way you look at.”
