MUMBAI: Ever since its first episode aired, Zee TV’s fiction show - Teri Meri IkkJindri has been successful in entertaining the masses through its unique love story of two starkly different personalities - Mahi (Amandeep Sidhu) and Jogi (Adhvik Mahajan). Set against the backdrop of Amritsar, the makers have always aimed at showcasing an authentic flavour of the city and its culture via its characters, location, and storyline. Bringing in an additional Punjabi touch, in its upcoming episodes, viewers will witness Jogi and Mahi enjoying together while observing Teej, which is usually celebrated by young married women at their maternal homes during the monsoon season. While you'll see all the festivities and its fervour in its truest form, our very own Amritsari kudi, Mahi will also be seen in a fresh Punjabi look.
In the upcoming episodes of the show, Mahi will be seen cheerfully celebrating the festival with her family, letting go of all the differences that may be there between her and Pappu Ji. In fact, Mahi will take your breath away as she adorns a fresh new look, wearing a gorgeous green and red Sharara with matching ethnic accessories andthe classic Punjabi Parandi hairdo for the very first time. Moreover, she will also be seen dancing away to an old Punjabi Teeyan folk song that was specially recreated by the makers, the music director -Paresh Shah and sung by Shree Dto depict the authentic flavour and culture of the festival.
Talking about the sequence and her look for it, Amandeep Sidhu who plays the role of Mahi in Teri Meri IkkJindri revealed, “Teej is usually a very important festival celebrated on a grand scale by newly married women when they go back to their maternal home during the monsoon season. The celebrations are usually day long and everyone spends their time getting dressed, dancing to music or gorging on delicious sweets. While I have no personal experience, a few years ago, I had seen my cousin sister celebrating the festival with her family, so I knew all about it and the customs that are followed before we began shooting this sequence. That enabled me to guide the Teri Meri IkkJindri team about a few rituals and we have tried our level best to depict the festival in the most authentic manner. I must add that I really loved my look for this sequence, in fact, I was very excited because I finally got a chance to wear a parandi in my hair. We wanted to keep the look as genuine as possible without adding any modern touches to it and hence, our viewers will see me in a new look, and I am sure they are definitely going to love Mahi's new look. Honestly, we had a great time shooting together for Teej since it was the first time that the entire cast was reuniting in Mumbai, so the excitement brought in another flavour to the celebrations, and I really hope that our viewers will enjoy watching this episode. I would also like to take this opportunity and wish all the women a very Happy Teej!”
While we surely can’t wait to see Mahi celebrate the festival with her family, before that, viewers will see Mahi embark on a mission to free Jogi, who was arrested by the police after Pappu ji filed a complaint against him. Mahi also promises Jogi that he will sing at a Jagrata function like it was planned, but will Mahi be successful in her mission?
