Post getting some positive response from her fans for her reality show MTV Splitsvilla 7, Priyanka Purohit is currently seen showcasing an interesting character in Sony PAL’s Yeh Dil Sun Raha Hai (Balaji Telefilms).
Talking about her show, Priyanka shared, “It is my first fiction show and am actually enjoying every bit of it. Also since the character is very close to me in terms of personality and that is the reason I enjoy playing it. Not being from the industry initially it was tough to get a stand, but now it has all sorted for good.”
Does she feel Splitsvilla gave her a good head on in the industry? “Yes of course, because it gave me a platform and an identity. I really enjoyed whatever fame the show brought my way and I actually miss the fun days. As for this show, I have really worked hard to get into my acting in place. Coming from a non industry background I have worked from the scratch to make my place as an actor. The journey is challenging but I am completely up for it.”
So how did you train yourself? “I am someone who is always open to criticism and suggestions so I always take feedback from my co actors. I have spent hours in front of the mirror to keep a check on my emotions. I feel an actor’s biggest advantage is her way of emoting through the eyes and I work on the skill. Also since my character is moving from positive to slightly grey, I have been trying to get the grasp of its changes and portraying it rightly.”
Priyanka also has interest in the show Bigg Boss: “I really would want to try my hand in a show like that for I feel it is a very difficult format for someone as sociable as me. And having already done Splitsvilla I have a sense of how to deal with people and competition. But that being my first show, I wasn’t polished enough and thus would love to try my luck in Bigg Boss. And yes of course, if Splitsvilla comes with a season where they would want me back, I would jump on to it (laughs).”
