Actor Khushank Arora’s ‘risk’ has paid off!! The young lad who presently essays the role of the parallel lead, Ankur in & TV’s Santoshi Maa feels that his role has been very intricately etched by the makers.
So what according to Khushank is the ‘USP’ of his character?
As per him, he took the grave risk of adding elements of ‘humour’ into the character, even though the man is out to seek revenge.
Says Khushank, “This is a one in a thousand role for me. These kinds of roles satiate my palate. My risk of adding humour into my revengeful act has worked wonders for me. People simply love my performance and role, to such an extent that they keep bombarding me with messages on Instagram and Facebook. They like seeing the humorous take on a negative role. I was very skeptical on playing an out and out negative role when it was offered to me. The character actually has the level of vengeance seen in Shah Rukh Khan in the movie Baazigar. However the addition of humour has made the character stand out!! It is always better to do a performance oriented role, rather than playing a character which is used as a prop or piece of furniture in a show with hardly anything much to do. Considering that many male actors get to do almost nothing in shows, this character is a breakthrough for me!!”
Way to go, Khushank!
