The victory in Life OK's Welcome is the first page of the new chapter in my life: Rucha Gujarathi

The highly talented Rucha Gujarathi is happy about winning her cluster of episodes in Life OK’s cookery show, Welcome-Baazi Mehmaan Nawaazi Ki. Says Rucha, “For the first time, viewers saw Bhabhi (her most famous character) cooking. I impressed everyone with my Chinese cuisines.” Her gang was an all-girl set which included Tanaaz Irani, Aanchal Munjal, Aishwarya Sakhuja and Sayantani Ghosh. Surprisingly, there was no bitching as seen in previous clusters. Commenting on this, the actress states, “We women had lots of fun.

Although we talked on many things, it was done in a sweet cordial way.” Looking ahead, Rucha now wants to replicate her small screen success on the big screen too. “Times have changed and TV stars are now being accepted in Bollywood. I am open to any kind of challenging role. I am also ready for bold avatars,” confides she. Prior to this, Rucha had debuted on celluloid with Lottery which unfortunately did not do well. Speaking about the luck factor that persists, she avers, “It is the luck of the draw; many films do not click. But I had an amazing experience; my lead role was challenging and fun to play.” Although Rucha has her eyes set on Bollywood, she will not bid adieu to the idiot box. “I will continue to do small screen projects as well. I am in talks with few producers, and am keeping my fingers crossed. The one thing I do not like about TV is that we still cannot come out of the family drama genre. Mostly whenever experiments have been done, they have not been accepted by viewers.” Rucha categorically tells us that she will not play romantic roles on TV. “I have already done positive (Rang Badalti Odhani and Waaris) and grey shades (Kkusum and Waqt Batayega Kaun Apna Kaun Paraya etc), so guess it has to be something new for me.” On her last TV appearance in Saas Bina Sasural, the actress states, “I am not sure if the creatives could have increased my negative track or not. But it was tough playing Kiya as she was so unlike me.” Last but not the least, Rucha on her personal front says, “I am single and happy again. I do not want to talk about my ill-fated wedding. I endured a gruesome experience. Luckily, that phase of my life is over and I have come out of it victorious. Instead of thinking about the past, I will rather look at the future. For the moment, I want to do good work. The victory in Welcome is the first page of the new chapter in my life.” Rucha, we hope and pray that you get the best of things from now on…
