MUMBAI: Kumkum Bhagya is one of the most successful and loved shows of television and always features in the top five shows on the TRP charts.

The audiences love watching the chemistry between Abhi and Pragya, and they have become an iconic pair on the small screen.

Pragya as a character has become a household name, and viewers love the way Sriti essays the role and does full justice to it.

But did you know that before the makers finalised Sriti for the role, it was offered to a few actresses who refused?

1. Devoleena Bhattacharjee

Devoleena was offered the role of Pragya but the actress refused it for reasons best known to her.

2. Sanaya Irani

Sanaya also refused the role of Pragya. The reason is still unknown, but there was news doing the rounds that she had taken a break from television.

3. Jennifer Winget

Jennifer too was offered the role of Pragya, but she refused because she didn’t want to do roles in saas–bahu type serials.

4. Aamna Sharif

Aamna refused the serial, as she wasn’t ready to come back on television back then.

Well, in the end, the role was bagged by Sriti Jha, and fans feel she is the perfect choice for the role and no one could do justice to Pragya the way she has.

Fans have also said that Pragya and Abhi’s chemistry is unmatchable.

No doubt that it’s a big loss for these actors, and they missed out on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
