MUMBAI: TV serial director Rajan Shahi is the owner of the Mumbai-based television production company 'Director's Kut Productions', which was established in 2007.
In 1993, Shahi started his career as an assistant director. In 1999, Shahi made his directorial debut with the series Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi.

The plot revolved around a father and his 2 daughters - 'Sadhana' (played by 'Sana Khan') and Ragini (played by 'Parul Chauhan'). Ragini's mother was insecured of Sadhana for her fair skin as Ragini was dark-skinned. The story further revolved around the girls' post-marital life and their in-laws.
