If reports are to be believed, popular TV actress Alka Kaushal and her mother Vishwa Mohan Badola, a theatre actor, have been accused of money laundering and heist. The two have been sentenced to two year long imprisonment by a district court in Sangrur, Punjab.
Alka was last in ‘Swaragini’ and ‘Qubool Hai’. She is also known for playing Kareena Kapoor’s mother in Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Kangana’s Queen. The talented actress has also acted in a few Marathi films.
Apparently, Alka Kaushal is indicted for not returning around 50 lakhs that she took on loan from an acquaintance named Avtar Singh who runs a floriculture business. Two cheques that she gave of Rs 25 lakhs each bounced, and hence she has been accused of theft. As per sources, “Advocate Sukhbir Singh said that Alka and her mother had borrowed 50 lakhs from an acquaintance, Avtar Singh. The money was borrowed with the promise of making a serial. When Avtar asked Alka to give back her money, he got two checks of 25 lakhs each. But they bounced. After that Avtar, filed a case against Alka and her mother in Malerkotla court.”
Allegedly, Alka was sentenced to jail for two years in 2015 which she had avoided by petitioning the court. Additional session judge of the court upheld the lower court’s orders on Wednesday.
Now, we just have to wait and watch how the actress deals with issue.
