If you are able to recollect a handful of memories of your adult days, just imagine how less you remember of your earlier days, more so of your early childhood. Nevertheless, we asked TV actors about their foremost and fondest memories. Pondering on this for a while they finally came up with their answers. Your parents comprise your world especially when you are a child. Little wonder then that most of the TV actors could recollect memories involving their parents or caretakers when asked to narrate their foremost memories. Siddharth Arora, who plays Beera in Colors’ Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha, says, "I have fond memories of me and my younger brother sleeping on my father's lap." A child is thought to spend more time with their mothers who are usually known as primary nurturers. This memory may indicate that Siddharth's father played an equally powerful role in his early childhood. The foremost memory of Monica Bedi, who is plays Guman in Star Plus’ Saraswatichandra, on the contrary, involves her mother. "I was in a primary school in Norway and used to be very fussy about my hairstyle. I wanted to leave it open but my mom wanted to make a pony tail. I was about four years then." On the other hand, the foremost memories of Karan Mehra who plays Naitik in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Abhinav Shukla who was in shows like Geet, Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, Jaane Kya Baat Hui, Chotti Bahu - Sindoor Bin Suhagan and Hitler Didi and Sukirti Kandpal involve both their parents. Reflects Abhinav, "As a toddler, I remember being administered pulse polio drops. Both my parents had accompanied me to the doctor's clinic. I was lying on the bed as very bitter polio drops were being fed to me." Karan's memory involves a pleasant travel with his family. "My family loved to travel a lot. I had gone to Gangtok and Shillong with my parents and have fond memories of the boat ride and sightseeing." Kanwar Dhillon, who plays Munna in Colors’ Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha also cites an outing with his parents. "I remember having taken my first footsteps on the beach with my parents. Then I was about three years old and was having a great time." Sukirti, who plays Jazz in Zee TV's Rab Se Sohna Isshq also recollects a travel experience with her parents that involved a frightening occurrence. "I had gone to Varanasi with my parents. A clumsy kid that I was, fell into a river head down while playing on the banks of the river. My father rescued me." Shakti Mohan's (who played Kria in Channel V's Dil Dostii Dance) foremost memory is also a scary one. "My earliest memory is me involved in a bike accident when I was just four years old. I was lying on the road while a crowd on the street hovered over. My leg was brutally fractured but at that moment all I could think of was that I will not have to go to school now. The doctors told my parents that I would be disabled for life, I guess my mom's prayers were answered when she asked for my return to normal house." Interestingly, the earliest memories of Tina Dutta (who plays Meethi in Uttaran) and Neha Sargam (who plays Sita in Zee TV's Ramayan) involves their grandparent. This simply shows that grandparents in this part of the globe also play a crucial role in a child's upbringing. Says Tina, "I have fond memories of my grandfather taking me out for a walk in the park early in the evening. He would give me Rs 5, with which I would eat puchkas (pani puri) and other delicious snacks. I was about four years old then." Avers Neha, "My grandfather would make me sit on his lap and make me learn classical songs. That is a very precious memory which dates back to the time when I was probably around three or four years old." The earliest memory of Avinash Mukherji, who is currently seen in Colors’ Sanskaar involves an acting experience, "I was about four years old then when I had my first acting experience. I played Lord Rama's father Dasharatha in a school play of mine in which he had to mouth Sanskrit dialogues." This just shows what a passionate actor he is. Finally, we are elated that we took a few TV actors on a delightful trip down memory lane when most of them had a great time raking out long lost memories that they had otherwise forgotten.
