Today is 5 of June (2012) and today the world is celebrating theWorld Environment Day. At an era when the menace of global warming is slowly and steadily gnawing the beauties of our Mother Nature, it is time for all of us to take a break from our busy schedules and ponder on how to preserve and conserve nature and make this world a better place to live.
On this day, Tellychakkar.com talked to some of your favourite actors and asked them what World Environment Day means to them.
Shashank Vyas shared, “Everyday is World Environment Day. As a concerned citizen, I make sure that I plant more and more trees. I am also concerned about animals. They must be saved from getting extinct. I also save water and electricity as much as possible.”
Kudos Shashank!!! Moving on…beautiful and talented Archana Taide is of the opinion that “every moment we are responsible for the preservation of the environment”.
“We are the ones who ruined the nature and we must stand up for it. Furthermore, I make sure I don’t use plastic bags and its usage should be banned completely. I want to share that on 4 June (2012) I went to Amravati and planted trees on a barren land in association with a school,” she further went on to share.
Marathi mulgi Yashashri Masurkar said, “I don’t plant trees as I don’t get time at all but I have a small dustbin in my car. I make sure I don’t litter around and throw the garbage in my car and make sure to keep my surrounding clean.”
Simple but sweet, Yashashri. We also had a word with gorgeous Vaishnavi Dhanraj and she stated, “Everyday is World Environment Day for me. I plant tress even on the sets and make sure that they are watered and well nurtured. My mantra is- more the trees, lesser the problems. We have to starting making this world a better place to live.”
On the other hand, Ritvik Dhanjani makes sure that he “doesn’t use plastic bags and carry cloth or paper bags.”
“I conserve electricity and water when I am not shooting or not around at home. I make sure I turn off the lights and not waste electricity,” Ritwik added.
Deepali Pansare opined, “I normally make sure I plant more and more trees and conserve electricity and save water. I don’t throw garbage here and there and keep my surrounding clean.”
Shritama Mukherjee seemed quite aware on the entire nature conservation thing. “I follow the concept of go-green and the funda of three R- namely reuse, recycle and reduce. Every citizen should follow this and one day we will have a healthy and pollution free environment.”
Finally, we had a word with Gaurav S Bajaj and he said, “I have planted small trees at my place in Mumbai. I take care of them and at my hometown I have a big garden. When I have a day off, I make sure to sweep the dead leaves in my area and keep the surrounding clean. I also conserve electricity and believe in recycling.”
So folks…your favourite TV stars are making efforts to prevent environment depletion. It’s time we too take the oath to make this world a better place to live!!!
