Throughout the day we have been carrying stories pertaining to the festival of Lord Ganesha. Lord Ganesha, who is also known as Vighnaharta, is known to be the God of intelligence and wisdom. He is not only a Godly figure and a supreme power, but also cute, cuddly and people’s bestest friend. We had a word with a few TV actors to find out what does Ganpati festival signify to them?
Samaira Rao, who is seen in Love Marriage Ya Arranged Marriage on Sony Entertainment Television, opined, “I just love this festival; according to me Ganesha is the real Vighnaharta. He solves everyone’s problems and I feel very close to him. And every year I visit all the Ganesha pandals across the city.”
On the other hand, Manish Naggdev, who is seen in Madhubala –Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, said, “I don’t consider Ganpati as a God. He is my best friend and I share everything with him.”
Rishika Mihani stated, “I usually fast on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Ganpati bappa is very close to my heart. Whatever I ask him I always get it. At times, I also fight with him and become upset. I cry looking at him when I am feeling low. He is a friend and has always been there for me. I have a special connection with him. He knows what I want and he understands me well. I am his favorite.”
Neha Desai said, “I am a firm believer of Ganeshji and I go to Siddhivinayak temple every Tuesday and fast too. I believe that Ganeshji is truly the Vighnaharta and takes away all the obstacles and gives us strength and a sane and stable mind to move ahead in life. I believe its Ganeshji who gives me the strength to live against all odds.”
However, Shilpa Shinde struck a different chord. Shared this Chidiya Ghar actress, “There was an era when Ganesha festival was celebrated with pure and true heart, nowadays every single house has Ganpati which makes a fashion statement. We are so immersed in our home affairs that we hardly socialize. I don’t understand why this Ganesha festival has become a fashion symbol. I feel it’s wrong. I also used to have Ganesha idol at my place which was my brother’s mannat Ganpati.”
