MUMBAI: Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya, which has been faring well on the rating charts from the time of its launch, is heading for a generation leap in the show.
Recently, there were reports about lead actors Shabbir Ahluwalia and Sriti Jha, who are popular known as Abhi and Pragya respectively, quitting Kumkum Bhagya, as they don’t wish to age on-screen. Post the jump, the duo will be shown as the grown-up Kiara’s parents. However, we later learned that they are still contemplating their stint in the show.
Now, as per the latest development, TellyChakkar has got to know that Vin Rana, who plays the character of Purab, has apparently informed production house Balaji Telefilms about him quitting the show.
Our sources inform that the actor is not keen on playing a father’s role at this point in his career. The casting for the new characters has already begun.
We tried contacting Vin, but he remained unavailable for comment.
The role of Purab was earlier played by Arjit Taneja.
