His chocolate boy looks won him Ayushman and Yeh Meri Life Hai. And now, post a sabbatical Vinod Singh is back in action with an untitled short film directed by Survesh Kumar. The actor plays a rich businessman cum lover boy (main lead) Vinod Singh: After television ready to go International with the untitled film opposite a fresh female lead (Sheetal). The one and half hour film is being targeted for the International market and film festivals. "I play this powerful, rich guy who is also a supportive boyfriend. He is very broadminded and doesn't mind a career oriented woman in his life. It's a multiplex film which will first be released at various international festivals. And later depending on how it fares there, it will be released in India," says Vinod who has just finished shooting for the film in Mumbai and Panvel. "They screen tested many people before zeroing in on me. I think, they wanted my kind of guy next door looks for this role. The character I play is interesting alongside a nice story," points out the Mumbai bred actor who is quick to add that it is essentially a women oriented film and it might have a sequel if it turns out to be successful. The film will be ready for a launch in August and for now the post production work is on. Apart from this film, Vinod has so far done about 175 odd ad films and has recently shot an ad film for Sony Cyber shot camera besides an ad for BBC. But why isn't the actor been seen on television these days? He says, " I haven't really been getting any meaty or interesting roles. Unforunately with my kind of looks such roles are difficult to come by." Or are producers really scared of signing him on because of his much famous tantrums?...
