Vishal Singh, Jigar of Star Plus’ popular show Saathiya has been an ardent Ganpati devotee, and has always celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi in style!!

But this year will be a bit different for the actor, as he will not be keeping the Ganpati idol at home. The reason for this is that the young lad will soon be travelling to USA for a work commitment.

Says Vishal, “We have been keeping Ganpati for three consecutive years now. And this year will be a break for it. I will certainly miss bringing in Bappa. But he very well knows the reason why I will not be celebrating the festival in style this year. However, he always resides in my heart, and that’s what matters.”

Talking about the importance of the festival for him, he avers, “I am basically from North India. And when I came and settled in Mumbai nine years back, I saw the festivity for the first time. I had wished then, that when I will have my family in Mumbai and will have a house of my own, I will start celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi elaborately. And when I brought in my family and had a home of my own, I started this custom. And we have been doing it dutifully, wherein we family members discuss on the kind of decorations, sweets and prasad to be made for the days. I usually wait for this time of the year to come. It is like a grand gala wedding at home. Everything will be missed this year. I will actually be leaving on the 2nd day of the Utsav, and my family did not want to keep Ganpati without me being at home.”

Nevertheless, Vishal plans to visit the huge Ganpati that will be erected in his own building. Also he will seek Bappa’s blessings by going to his friends’ places. “I will see to it that I see as many Ganpatis as possible before I leave. I will be going to Gurmeet-Debina’s place, Kapil Sharma’s place, Vipul Roy and Sonu Nigam’s place to take a darshan.”

Vishal’s birthday is on the 7 September. Ask him about plans and he says, “Well, I am leaving for USA on that very day. However, I have called my friends; we will celebrate my birthday together and later and then get on my trip.”

Vishal takes this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy Ganesh Chaturthi.

We wish you the same, Vishal!!
