We are going to put contestants out of their comfort zone - Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit
The magnificent beauty, Madhuri Dixit, is back on the judge’s seat of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (BBC Worldwide Media) on Colors but this time in a completely ‘alag’ avatar. The lady indeed sounded pretty excited to be a part of the project. We caught up with the diva at the press launch of the show and got talking with her. Sharing her thoughts on the ‘alag dikhhla jaa’ theme Madhuri said, “There will be different appeals this year. We are going to bring some interesting international dance forms on the show. Last year, we introduced Bachata and this time Bolero, an Italian dance form which will make its entry in our show.” “Also internationally acclaimed Maksim Chmerkovskiy will also be joining the judges’ panel and I am sure everyone will learn a lot from him. He is a talented and popular choreographer and we will be more than welcoming to him. This season is surely going to be a lot more dhamakedar,” she added. The ultra glamorous star has also got herself a much westernized look for the season. Speaking on the same Madhuri beamed, “In the last seasons viewers have seen me in sarees and lehngas so we thought we will add some fun to the costumes and go more western. The Indian dresses too would be with a twist and hence I am really excited about it. Also I am giving a lot of inputs to the dress designing and we are working as a team to bring out some wonderful outfits.” The graceful dancer, who has also showcased her moves on the Jhalak stage earlier, will once again be seen trying out various dance forms. In the AV showed to the media, the dancer looked fretful trying to pick up the steps. Defending herself she quipped, “You definitely take time to learn new forms. Since I have tried a lot of variety I am not at all worried but yes when you have to do the pure forms of dance you have to check on every minute detail-from the steps to the body language. I was actually feeling like a contestant while rehearsing.” The judges have claimed to become stricter and rigid in terms of score and attitude this season, when asked the reason for the same Madhuri averred, “The last season of Jhalak had made a high benchmark in terms of performance and we did not want that to deter. So it would be really tough to get high scores this time. Also importantly, we have a lot of challenges lined up for the contestants. From getting to use new technology to changing choreographers we are going to put contestants out of their comfort zone.” Well, gear up to watch the sizzling seventh season from this weekend. The show will air from this Saturday (7 June 2014).
