Evictions on reality shows are always painful. The recent eviction on Zee TV’s dance reality show, Dance India Dance 3 was also very emotional as Varun from Bengaluru (Bangalore) was eliminated, yesterday 4 March 2012. He was part of Terence Ki Toli, headed by ace choreographer Terence Lewis. The other two masters in the show are Geeta Kapur (heading Geeta Ki Gang) and Remo D'Souza (Remo Ke Rangeeley).
The boy was heart broken when he was informed that the audiences had shown him the door from this highly popular Zee TV dance show which has Mithun Chakraborty as ‘Grand Master’. According to our source, contestants from South India have generally suffered in the final thirteen, which is only decided by audience voting, as the number of viewers from south India is less. Apart from that, the audiences from the north seem to prefer their own boys /girls, adds our source.
Tellychakkar.com spoke to Terence Lewis about this regional twist in Varun’s exit, and he confirmed the presence of such a connection. Terence says, “It’s true; I had predicted this long ago. It’s not a bias but the fact remains that southern region have their own popular shows and they don’t understand Hindi so don’t watch Hindi channels much. Lest they would have supported Varun and had not let him go so easily.”
