When I started hitting my neighbour with a stick!

A page from personal diary of Akanksha Juneja I was just 10-years-old and we used to stay in a small place in Madhya Pradesh before we shifted to Delhi. So there, even if guys got older by age, mentally they never did and I had one such guy as my neighbour then. He was 20 and I was just 10 but he used to love troubling me. He wouldn’t miss a chance to make me cry. So one day when my younger sister and I were making mud houses and had almost completed them, he arrived and I knew he was going to do something crazy. I warned him but he spoilt my house. He wasn’t happy with just that, he went towards my sister. I am very protective about my sisters and when anyone tells them anything or even thinks about harming them it gets difficult for me to take it. Hence, there I was when he went ahead and broke my little sister’s house. I caught his leg and pulled him down and in no time he was on the ground. Then without wasting a second, I picked up a wooden stick and started bashing him up. I did not hit him anywhere but on his face. He was yelling out for help so a friend of his ran to call his mother. The moment I knew she was coming I ran from there. I went straight home and narrated the entire incident to my mother. My mother understood the entire situation and she told me that she would yell at me just to please his mother! So, we had our plan in place and when the door bell rang my mother opened it and I started laughing. His face was swollen and it looked very bad. My mother acted according to our plan. But, the moment she shut the door, we burst out laughing.
