Actor Mohit Malik is presently looking forward to his next fiction ‘challenge’ after playing the much-acclaimed ‘male chauvinist’ role of Samrat Singh Rathore in Doli Armaanon Ki. Presently, he is the anchor of Life OK’s Savdhan India.
When asked about his next goal as actor, he was quick to say, “I will like to play my age.”
This statement actually made us wonder what he actually meant to say!! Later, we realized that Mohit Malik was almost on the verge of playing a 42 years old man in Sony TV’s next, to be produced by Mumtaz Saba Productions.
Mohit, we hear was the favourite to bag the role. However, from the time of being offered the role, Mohit was apprehensive of looking 42 years old. However, the channel and production were convinced that they could give him the required look.
As per sources, “Mohit went through 4-5 look tests, post which he was not convinced about it. Also, the team involved realized that he did not look to be a man post his 40s. And the amicable parting happened.”
When contacted, Mohit confirmed the news saying, “Yes, the role offered was really wonderful. So I was excited to play it. But the only catch was that I had to play a person who had crossed the 40 mark. Even after lot of trials, I did not look like one. And I had to move out of the project.”
This role in mention has now gone to actor Eijaz Khan.
Also, Mohit has been in the news for being approached for Bahu Humari Rajni_Kant. On this, Mohit said, “I will prefer to take up a new show.”
On a concluding note, Mohit said, “The drive for me is that I will want to play a role that is very convincing, and also is of my age.”
Point taken, Mohit!!
