Tellychakkar.com had earlier reported about the uber cool first of its kind society media reality series, SOS Island: Survival of the Smartest (SOS) (read: Only the smartest will survive in Samsung Presents’ SOS Island) , which tests contestants across survival, technology and social media skills. With over 11,500 submission videos from 132 countries, Samsung selected the top 16 global contestants who spent one week training alongside survival expert and TV star Les Stroud. Finally, eight contestants were selected to be marooned on an island in the Caribbean. Log onto SOS-Island.com to learn more about them; follow their social media feeds, their performances in our challenges and vote on your favorites.
The winning contestant will be announced at an event in Los Angeles on 10 December with 40 per cent of their overall ranking decided by online followers' votes and 60 per cent decided by how many coconuts they win. The ultimate winner gets $100,000 to fund their own tropical island.
We at Tellychakkar.com wondered whether any of the popular celebs from the Indian television industry would have chosen to take part in such a rough and tough contest ...marooned in a far off island, far away from the luxuries of life, left to fend for themselves. Like in SOS Island, what would they have done if they were told to complete tasks like making fire, finding food on their own, making a tent, among other grueling activities. (Remember JD Majethia in Survivor on Star Plus?)
First we asked one of the biggest and most renowned younger actors on Indian television today, Vivian Dsena aka RK of Madhubala.
“I would be all game for it. I have studied at a military school and know the art of making a fire, erecting a tent, walking for long hours, dealing with difficult situations et al. I am very adventurous as a person and believe can survive under any circumstances.”
Wow…fascinating Vivian!!!
Next we asked the petite and bubblicious Nia Sharma (Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai fame). “First of all, I have mastered the art of staying alive without eating. All my fans are aware of that (laughs). Secondly, it’s a basic instinct to survive under any given circumstances. My key to survival would be my skills of adaptability and being patient.”
Enlightening…Nia!!!
Let’s hear it from the gorgeous babe Kritika Kamra (Kuch Toh Log Kahenge).
“I hail from a small town and am very connected to my roots. So somewhere that quality would help me in surviving. Furthermore, I think it’s not about the lack of food, or making fire that would be an issue. All these problems can be dealt with. But what’s really would be the differentiating factor is keeping the right attitude. Being calm and patient and dealing smartly with co contestants. That is how I would survive.”
Quite imaginative…Kritika!!!
Now for all SOS Island lovers, here’s the episode schedule:
