Wizcraft and KOD shun responsibilities; what's next for Gaurav Gera?

The Gaurav Gera impending payment case has taken a rather shocking turn.

The comedy star who has been stating that Wizcraft has not paid him for his performance in Jhumroo has found himself in a dirtier space.

Both the organizing parties (Wizcraft and Kingdom of Dreams (KOD)) are not ready to take the onus and come forward to pay the actor his dues, which amounts to over 46 lakh.

Yesterday, we had spoken to Gaurav Gera who had stated that 46 lakh was unpaid of his service amount for Jhumroo from the producers for over two years now.

Tellychakkar.com then got in touch with directors of Wizcraft, Sabbas Joseph and Viraf Sarkari, and here is what they had to say.

Sabbas stated, “Wizcraft does not have any contract with him and thus we have no underlying dues with him. From the little that I know, he has to clear the dispute with the KOD team.”

On the other hand, the creative producer Viraf quipped, “Wizcraft is one of the produicers of the show but the day to day management of KOD, shows and finances are not handled by us. I have personally helped Gaurav to get his payments from KOD in the past. I told him to be patient but now he blames Wizcraft. Let us get it cleared that we owe him nothing.”

Wanting to get all sides cleared we spoke to the Kingdom of Dreams management team. Its publicist sent us an official statement, which reads: “Gaurav Gera performed in Jhumroo at KOD from June 2011 to September 2014. The total billing for that period of time was Rs. 2.5 crores of which Rs. 2 crores 8 lakhs was paid regularly. The balance Rs. 42 lakhs is the disputed amount. Gaurav Gera had submitted bills to the artist management team where there were discrepancies found. Due to last minute cancellation of shows by him and other reasons it was found that there was difference in the amount calculated by the artist management team and Gaurav Gera. Hence this amount is pending. Gaurav Gera is welcome to discuss the issue with the artist management team and sort out the discrepancies and the payments shall be made.”

When we spoke to Gaurav again he stated, “All these while Wizcraft played bosses and when it came to money they have just shrugged off all responsibilities. As for KOD, well, the owner, Gagan Sharma doesn’t even want to talk. The only time that he answered my call was when I mentioned legal cases. He told me he was in the hospital with his mom, and voila, no calls were ever returned. I now want to ask people to help me and support me in the cause. It is time that artists get their dues and not being misused by such authorities.”

Well we shall keep you updated on this controversial tale. Till then keep reading Tellychakkar.com.
