MUMBAI : India celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna, who is regarded as the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu, on Krishna Janmashtami, a day of great devotion. In places like Mathura and Vrindavan, where lively celebrations honor their historical ties to Krishna's life, the occasion holds particular significance.
The celebration falls on August 26 this year, which corresponds with 'Ashtami,' the eighth day of the Krishna Paksha in the Hindu calendar. Many ceremonies and rituals are held on this day to honor Lord Krishna, showing the great faith and devotion that people have for him.

In a conversation with the popular news portal, Samridhii Shukla, the leading lady of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, opened up about how Janmashtami holds a special place in her heart and revealed her fondest memory attached to the festival.
Samridhii Shukla talks about Janmashtami, "My fondest memory of the festival of Janmashtami would be to be a part of the bhajans and rituals that take place at night to bring the onset of Lord Krishna's birth. It was one of the best feelings, and in childhood, we had a holiday in the school, and the next day we used to watch the dahi handi celebrations."
Samridhii Shukla co-stars with Rohit Purohit (Armaan) as the lead character Abhira in Rajan Shahi's popular Star Plus show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
The current plot of the beloved show centers around Armaan and Abhira's wedding, with Dadi Sa eventually agreeing to the marriage after Rohit convinces her. AbhiMaan just got engaged amid a lot of twists and turns, so it would be interesting to see if Ruhi will succeed in breaking their marriage.
