You cannot always have positives in your life, you’ve to accept failures and make mistakes too, move on

MUMBAI: Having done a number of shows on the tube, Micckie Dudaaney is content with how his career is shaping up. And he is also brave enough to accept the mistakes that he has made in his career and wishes he would not have made them.

“I do regret taking up a couple of shows and roles but that’s ok. I consider them as a learning experience. You cannot always have positives in your life, you’ve failures and make mistakes too. You have to accept them and move on. There’s no point in sitting and grieving about it. I’ve made peace with my decisions be it professional or personal,” says the actor, known for TV shows, Chotti Bahu, Sammaan Ek Adhikaar and Santoshi Maa - Sunayein Vrat Kathayein .

The actor however didn’t reveal the professional choices he regrets. These experiences have helped him learn to say no to things he wants to avoid.

“I love my work and don’t like saying no to it. Earlier I used to decline offers due lack of dates or if the remuneration weren’t sufficient. In fact it also have that I had said no to a few production houses a few times because I was busy with other shows and I guess they even blacklisted me. This field isn’t a cakewalk. You take a lot of time to settle in. Now I’m particular about what I take up. Those mistakes and regrets and have helped me grow,” he adds.

Dudaaney isn’t bothered about the length of the role but the arc of and the impact of it in the storyline. The actor wants to “explore varied roles” and has no “inhibition in experimenting”. He also feels at times it’s important to go with the flow.

“Sometime when you aren’t sure, the director sees that character in you and it works. It’s a teamwork, you need to trust people around you as well. I’m a director’s actor but also enjoy adding my own touched. As I said this collaboration needs to be mutual. Everyone needs to be receptive to make for a beautiful journey,” he says.

Revealing his career goal, the actor shares it’s simply to do substantial work.

“I want to do quality work, be a part of good TV shows, films and web series. I have completed my direction course from Whistling Woods International, something I really wanted to do for long. Now I want to assist good director. I really want work with Rohit Shetty… I hope to direct my films in future,” he ends.
