You have to see me off camera to believe how different I am in real life: Alka Kaushal

Alka Kaushal
Alka Kaushal has been successful in making the loyal viewers of Qubool Hai believe that she is one mean woman with her portrayal of Raziya in the Zee TV show, produced by 4 Lion Films. But is she anywhere close to her on-screen personality? The lady herself speaks her heart out. “You have to see me off camera to believe how different I am in real life,” says the lady with a hearty laugh. She further goes on to add, “The entire cast is a different family off screen. We enjoy each other’s company. We eat, joke and shop together. In fact, our director has to make an effort to get us back in front of the camera as we get too engrossed in our funny talks.” But the audiences look at you as an evil lady. Doesn’t that bother you at times? “I don’t agree with you in totality, for I have met a lot of people who look at my work and appreciate me for the same.” The word appreciation reminded us about her control over Urdu to which she states, “I think I can attribute it to my theatre background. I have been a part of a lot of Urdu plays and that’s what has helped me with the language. But I think Vaquar (Shaikh) speaks better Urdu than most of us. In fact, whenever I get stuck at something I check with him.” Do you miss Karan Singh Grover? “Yes, it was good to have him around as he is a very nice human being. But I’ve also become very good friends with Raqesh (Vashishth). I must say that he has understood the mood of the character very well in a very short span of time.” Keep up the good work Alka!!!
