You need to have the patience to be successful in this industry: Aarvika Gupta

MUMBAI: Aarvika Gupta is currently seen as Yashika Dubey aka Y in SAB TV's hit show "Tera Kya Hoga Alia". An engineer by profession, her love for acting drove her to the industry and she has been part of shows like "Krishan Kanhaiya", "Aarambh: Kahaani Devsena Ki" and "Aadat se Majboor". The actress says you can be successful in the industry only if you are patient enough.

"I don't think I am struggling, I just feel that you need to put in the same effort everyday if you want to achieve something. I have enjoyed my journey so far and am learning everyday. I feel you need to have patience to be successful in this industry," she said.

She further continued that it's because of her parents that she was able to follow her dreams.

She said, "I feel blessed to have such supporting parents, who have always believed in me. My mom says that one day I will become a superstar, and my dad wanted to me do PhD. They gave me the freedom to choose my career and have helped me follow my dreams."

Talking about her current show "Tera Kya Hoga Alia", she said, "It is one of the top shows on SAB TV and the audience loves it.
Though it's a comedy show, it's full of emotions. It is a based on a school where the bond between teachers and students is portrayed beautifully. Also, its Hindi medium vs English medium in the story, so the audience can see the importance of Hindi as well. The message which we want to reflect through our show is that we should not forget our national language Hindi and we should not be ashamed of speaking it."

Aarvika also opened up about her role as Y, who is one of the most interesting characters of the show. She said, "Y is school teacher who teaches Maths in the English medium section of the school but instead of concentrating on her teaching, she believes in show-off.  She is ashamed of the fact that she comes from a middle-class family and behaves like a high-class rich girl. She hates her name Yashika and prefers being called Y. She is a selfish girl who is afraid to reveal the truth that she is not rich."

The "Sacred Games" actress also spoke about the changes she has seen in TV industry over the years. She said, "I feel looks, family background and educational qualification is not given much importance now. If you are talented and capable enough then you will definitely get work."

The entertainment industry was shut down for over three months because of the Coronavirus pandemic and consequent lockdown. The shooting of various shows resumed last month with some government approved guidelines. When asked about the precautions taken on the set owing to the COVID situation, Aarvika said, "There are sanitisers everywhere, we maintain social-distancing. Masks in between shots are compulsory. Earlier, we all used to have our food together, but now we have it separately in our rooms. Make up and hair is also done with proper precaution."
