2014: Top TV Personalities (Male)

2014: Top TV Personalities (Male)

Like Bollywood, even the small screen has seen top personalities put their immense talent to the forefront. From dashing Bollywood megastars to chiseled TV actors, we take a look at the most promising television personalities of this year...

Salman Khan:

He not only ruled Bollywood with two massive hits, but also made a name for himself as the host on Bigg Boss. His amazing sense of humour, coupled with totally spontaneous remarks made him one of the most sought after TV personalities of 2014. Can anybody forget his cool dance steps and quirky way of questioning the inmates? He will be missed when he passes on his mantle to Farah Khan in January.

Aamir Khan:

The other Khan who ruled both the spheres of entertainment is Aamir. The second season of the thought-provoking Satyamev Jayate made him a star of the small screen once again. What really got us going was the way he showed empathy to the causes and the victims. Never once did he go overboard with his emotions, making them look fake and he didn't make them look cringe-worthy either. If that's not the mark of a true actor, wonder what is!

Kapil Sharma:

He is definitely the most famous man on Indian television right now. His staggering success is stuff legends are made of. From doing stand-ups to having his own show (Comedy Nights with Kapil) to giving Bollywood a shot, the funny man has done it all. But the credit goes to his hardworking nature and humble demeanour because he doesn't let success overshadow the show. Be it his simplicity in accepting his lack of English prowess or the ways in which he woos the female celebs on the show, it's all very endearing and sexy in a quirky sort of way. And that's what we love about this munda.

Amitabh Bachchan:

His television show Yudh may have bombed without a trace, but Big B's booming baritone on KBC continues to enthrall us. Despite the format not changing much, we have enjoyed every season of the game show...thanks to Bachchan's chutzpah. From the roll of his eyes to the lopsided smile of his mouth, the star knows how to keep the audiences glued to the show for season after season. We have celebrated with him when a contestant has struck rich or sympathised when a contestant who lost it all. Such is the raw power of the actor.

Ronit Roy:

He is known as the Big B of television for a reason. We saw him in various roles on the big screen, while his latest show on the small screen as an estranged husband has the industry going crazy (Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyar). His mature demeanour and style of talking has taken him places. And we are sure they would help in the future as well. But what's really striking about his personality, apart from his height of course, is his pair of piercing eyes. They are expressive, powerful and one of his best assets.

Gautam Rode:

With a face and a body like his, is it any wonder that he would feature on this coveted list? Of course not! He created waves, ripples and small tsunamis with his acting chops and good looks this year. What we really love about 'Sarat' is his powerful dialogue delivery that makes him stand apart from the rest of the tribe. Despite not being very tall, the sculpted actor makes head turn with his voice and commendable screen presence.

Mohit Raina:

He has the looks that God himself would be jealous of! With an amazing body and a dashing personality to boot, the screen God has charmed us for a while now. It's quite tough to play God onscreen because it requires you to have a certain posture, style of delivering dialogues and calm and composed facial expressions. Because, well, you're God. Raina gets these small pointers bang on because his subdued acting makes him stand out.

Siddharth Shukla:

Karan Johar was so impressed with Shukla's sex appeal and dancing skills that he cast the Balika Vadhu star in the runaway hit Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. The superstar of TV remains one of the indisputable stars of the telly land because of his startlingly good looks. And also because he can deliver dialogues beautifully and let his eyes do all the talking.

Gurmeet Choudhary:

He showed us his adventurous side on Khatron Ke Khiladi this year. It was one hell of a performance for sure! We are dying to see him in his trademark lover boy roles soon. His kickass personality and devil-may-

care attitude make him one of the best actors on the small screen. We also love his screen presence because he makes us sit up and take notice every time he makes his appearance.

Karan Kundra:

He is a hottie and a TV heartthrob. Be it the avatar of a sexy vampire or a cool host, Karan is a performer par excellence. The Punjabi lad is the perfect blend of style and substance. Karan, hope 2015 brings more smiles in your life.
