Reality dramas hold a special place in our TV-watching adventures. They are racy, thrilling, rushing with adrenaline, and supremely entertaining. After all, a generation of viewers seek their drama fix from these series. Perhaps that’s why there’s a growing demand for reality content. The previous year was a particularly exciting one, especially in this genre…we take a look at the top reality shows of 2016. Read on:

India’s Next Top Model (MTV India; Bulldog Media):

The glamourous show that launched many a pretty faces was quite a must-watch for fashion junkies. It showcased the best of the modelling world, along with the finest of mentors. No wonder we were glued to it big time.

The Voice Kids: (&TV; Endemol India)

A bunch of talented kids took the platform by storm with their dedicated singing and overall awesome personalities. Apart from belting out numbers, these kids were confident, self-aware, and true sports. If that doesn’t make for an interesting watch, we wonder what will.

Bigg Boss: (Colors; Endemol India)

So many things have happened on this controversial show that it’s a miracle it’s still running high on TRPs. From contestants shouting like banshees to throwing pee on each other, it’s been an entertaining rollercoaster.  We don’t know what’s in store, but we can’t wait to find out.

India’s Got Talent: (Colors; Fremantle Media)

A show not limited to one particular field alone, this reality drama let contestants explore a myriad of talents. They could sing, dance, perform stunts or even dish out an extravagant group item.

Dance Plus: (Star Plus; Frames Productions)

All the nimble-footed fans rejoiced alike as Dance Plus thoroughly entertained us in all quarters. Serving up world stage-worthy performances, the show raked in big numbers and bigger applause from the audiences.

Super Dancer (Sony TV; Frames Productions)

 With a name so powerful, can the contestants be anything less than stars? They rocked the stage with their agile moves and powerful expressions.

Khatron Ke Khiladi: (Colors; Endemol India)

The adventure fare saw celebs facing their fears and coming out on tops. This edition was even more thrilling and pumping with energy than its earlier version. We are already waiting for the next season, aren’t we?

Masterchef India: (Star Plus; Endemol India)

Cooking up a storm in the kitchen became a norm on this food-based spectacle. With celebrity chefs offering the finest of tips and participants made everyday delicacies look like gourmet wonders.

Roadiesx4: (MTV India; Colesceum India

MTV’s flagship reality show is still going strong, and how! In fact, many other reality series sprung up pose this success of Roadies.

Splitsvilla 9: (MTV India; Colesceum India)

Another MTV constant, the relationship drama sees young boys and girls look for true love, while also rediscovering themselves.

Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2016: (Zee TV; Esselvision Productions)

Music binds us all and this edition of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa nailed home the point further. It not just piqued our curiosity, but also made us cheer for the singers like they were our own.
