Citadel review: Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden starrer is a stylish action-packed web series made on a huge scale

MUMBAI: For the past couple of years, we have been hearing about a web series titled Citadel which stars Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden in the lead roles. The famous Hollywood director duo The Russo Brothers are the executive producers of the series, and it is created by David Weil. Citadel is all set to premiere on 28th April 2023, and we got a chance to watch the two episodes series at a special screening.

The series revolves around two agents Mason (Richard Madden) and Nadia (Priyanka Chopra). They are on a mission, but things don’t go as planned and their lives take a huge turn. Their memories have been erased, so how will Mason and Nadia manage their lives and what will happen when they come to know about their past? Well, watch the series to know that...

The story of Citadel is interesting, and the screenplay and narration keeps you hooked throughout. But, the best elements about the series are action and the way it has been shot. The action is top-notch and both Priyanka and Richard have performed the stunts amazingly.

Citadel is reportedly the second-most expensive show, and it looks like the reports are true as the series is clearly mounted on a very huge scale. It has been shot at some wonderful locations and it’s a visual treat. So, we have to give a special mention to the cinematographers Newton Thomas Sigel and Michael Wood for that. Even the VFX team has done a great job.

Talking about performances, both Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden are simply excellent. After Quantico, it is good to see Priyanka in an international project that does justice to her talent, and of course, she kicks it like a pro. Richard Madden also leaves a very strong mark and soon, he might have a huge fan following in India as well.

Overall, Citadel is clearly one of the most stylish action-oriented web series that we have seen so far. And of course, a treat for Priyanka Chopra’s fans!

Ratings: 3.5/5

Note: The above review is based on the first two episodes of Citadel.

P.S. After watching the international Citadel, we surely have super high hopes from the Indian instalment of the series which stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead roles. It is being created by Raj & DK.
