Talking about the cast of the show, Vikas Kumar is making it big with his amazing contribution to Hindi films and digital platforms. We have seen different shades of the actor and he has impressed fans with his talent.
Vikas plays the role of ACP Khan in the show and has been a part of the show since its first season. His performance and role has been loved by all and the audience is really looking forward to seeing him once again in the latest season.
Tellychakkar got in touch with Vikas Kumar where he revealed a lot of interesting things about the audience reaction, what made him say yes for the character and much more.
Audience Reaction
To this, Vikas said that the reaction has been fantastic, beyond anyone could ask. There’s a lot of love for the show, the characters, for Sushmita Sen and fortunately for ACP Khan too. He added that they have tried their best everytime to deliver to the expectations and have approached season 3 with exactly that.
What made him say ‘Yes’ for the character?
To this, Vikas Kumar said that he has played a few cop roles but then the casting director Abhimanyu Rahi. Who is responsible for him being casted as a cop in a couple of projects before, called him and assured him that this role is different, the only one representing the law enforcement and revealed that there’s going to be Sushmita Sen returning after 10 years. Vikas was also later informed that he will have scenes with Sushmita Sen and that the series is directed by Ram Madhvani who has directed Neerja. He added that a lot of times one can tell by the audition scenes whether it’s really worth giving it a shot or not, depending on where one is in their career. He also added that he loved the audition scene and even the team including Ram Madhvani were rooting for him as they liked his audition. Talking about the casting director, Vikas Kumar said that he has a lot of faith in Abhimanyu when he calls him as he comes to know that he (Vikas) is the one who should play that part and can do justice to it.
Mentioning what attracted him to play the part, Vikas Kumad said that he didn’t have to play a proper cop who carries his authority on his chest but a very normal, sincere human going about his job, who is sensitive and emotional.
Screen time or depth of the character, what matters to him?
To this Vikas Kumar said that in a film a lead would be attractive if it has a journey in the story and that is what makes it exciting for an actor whereas in a series format, because of its length, it’s not just the lead but principal or primary parts which will have their own arc, like Khan has. That’s when length matters. However, when it’s a small but an impactful role, that is taking the story forward, or maybe it’s just a scene where you get to do what you’ve never done before. I wouldn’t mind doing a small part if there’s something exciting to do.
