MUMBAI: Abhay Mahajan, who is known for his performance in series Pitchers season 1 and 2, will next be seen in an OTT series titled Ishq Next Door. The series will premiere on Jio Cinema on 3rd July 2023.
TellyChakkar recently interacted with Abhay and spoke to him about Ishq Next Door, getting the chemistry right with his co-actor, and more...
Tell us something about your role in Ishq Next Door.
I play a character whose name is Dev. He comes from a very middle class family. He lost his father at a very early age, so he became quite responsible to take care of his whole family and because of that there’s no space for love in his life. But, then Meher comes in his life and she adds a little bit of colour to his life.

What was your first reaction when the film was offered to you?
When the show was offered to me, I was extremely happy because it’s a show based in Delhi, and nobody had asked me to play a Delhi-based character earlier. So, that was a very exciting thing. I also got to work with very interesting actors and very interesting people. So, overall it was a very good experience.
It's a romantic film, so how difficult or easy was it to get the chemistry right with your co-actor?
When your co-actor is very beautiful, it’s not too difficult to fall in love with her (laughs). But, it really makes a difference when you work with good actors and good people who have very less tantrums. So, it becomes very easy to work with them.
Ishq Next Door also stars Natasha Bhardwaj and Mrinal Dutt.
