MUMBAI: Sonakshi Sinha is all set to make her web series debut with Dahaad. Today, a trailer launch event was organised in Mumbai and it was attended by the cast and crew including Sonakshi Sinha, Gulshan Devaiah, Vijay Varma, Sohum Shah, Reema Kagti, Zoya Akhtar, and others.
At the trailer launch when TellyChakkar asked Sonakshi about what prep she did to play the character and if she had to learn something, the actress said, “I think I was born to play this character. I was waiting for a character like this to come to me and I have gone into it without any hullabaloo, nothing of that sort. Honestly and genuinely, when that uniform comes on ‘aapki chaal badal jaati hai’. You just start walking straight, like hard; I am a hard-chick (laughs). I can’t tell you the power of that uniform.”
“It is the first time I have played a cop; I have learnt how to ride a bike which in fact I loved it so much that I got a bike for myself after the show, and my mom is very worried because I just take out the bike at night and go alone. So, that was an experience for me, and the dialect was very different in the show and that was something I prepared for. It was a wonderful experience and as I said I was born to do this,” she added.
Reema Kagti, who has co-directed Dahaad, added, “She actually drove the bike better than her stunt double.” Sonakshi quipped, “One day I was sitting thinking aaj toh meri chutti hai and they are like you come and I was like why, so they said she is riding slower than you, so you please ride (laughs).
Dahaad is slated to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 12th May 2023.
