MUMBAI : Jatin Sarna is one of the most talented actors we have in the industry. He rose to fame with his performance in Sacred Games, and last year, impressed everyone with his act in the web series Khakee: The Bihar Chapter.
TellyChakkar recently interacted with Jatin and spoke to him about the pressure, upcoming projects, and more….
Your character in Khakee: The Bihar Chapter is in the crime zone, so were you not hesitant to take up the part that might get similar to your previous roles?
“I know that you are talking about Bunty (Sacred Games). But, not exactly, because if you pick up my work, you will see they all are very different characters. You may see an aggressive guy and a guy with an attitude, but they are very different like Yashpal Sharma of 83 is a very different guy. So, in Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, it falls in the same space, but Bunty comes from a very different background and he is over the top.”
You have proved your mettle as an actor, and now, the audience has expectations from you. So, does that put a pressure on you while you are signing a new project?
There’s not much pressure, but it’s more of a choice as an actor because quantity is not important for me, quality is more important. I want my character to speak more than I speak about it. It should not be Jatin Sarna, it should be the character, whether I am playing the protagonist or antagonist. I am really looking forward to good and meaningful scripts. Even if it’s just one scene, my character should change the whole scenario; it should be something very important. So, I won’t say there’s pressure, but there is responsibility and that’s why I am being choosy right now.
Tell us something about your upcoming projects…
You will see a very interesting film soon which is called Motor Maachis Cutter. It will be released very soon and I am looking forward to it. And again, I am searching for good work, good scripts and good roles.
