MUMBAI: Kapil Sharma is known to be one of the most loved actors/comedians of our time. His humour and comic timing has won him fans from all walks of life. The actor’s popular talk show The Kapil sharma Show is also one of the most loved and is usually on the top when it comes to TV ratings.
After a two-year gap, Kapil recently returned with the show The Great Indian Kapil Show which is streaming on Netflix currently. As the actor celebrates his 43rd birthday, let us unveil an interesting fact about the Crew actor.
Well, Kapil incidentally has been named after the former Indian Cricket captain Kapil Dev.
Kapil himself once revealed that during India’s historic World Cup win in 1983, the Zwigato actor was a young child and did not have a formal name. His family called him by various cute nicknames. However, after seeing Kapil Dev, fantastic performance in the match and later lifting the World Cup Trophy, inspired Kapil’s father to name him after the cricketer and that’s how he got his name.
Kapil even jokingly said that had it not been for India’s World Cup win, he would have been named as Golu or Molu.
Apart from being seen in The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix, Kapil is also seen in Ekta Kapoor’ film Crew starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu and Kriti Sanon.
