MUMBAI : Deepika Padukone was present to promote her upcoming film Gehraiyaan. The actress speaks about the film and how does she feel that the film is finally coming out. Deepika also talks about the intimate scenes in the film.  

How do you feel that finally, Gehraiyaan is coming out?

Well, I think I feel excited about the film and for the people to see this film actually. The people to experience this character and experience this world, because I know I am being objective about this thing that even if I wasn't the part of this film. As an audience, I would be excited about the film to watch it. The feeling right now is yes I am excited about it because it is a film haven't seen before in the certain sense and even the character I play is something that is different from anything that I have done before.

Do you look in before signing the film what kind of intimate scenes are there in the film?

Honestly, If it was not the director like Shakun, I won’t sign up for a project like this. Because I know, he is extremely intelligent and sensitive about these things. Intimacy in this film is not there to titillate the audience. It's there because it's natural and honest to these characters and to the film. So, there is an inherent trust that I have in Shakun, which is why I didn't have to ask.

Deepika further adds, Of course, we had a discussion that was not what I will do or not how much I will do. Of course, we knew that it will showcase intimacy or lovemaking in a very different way compared to what we have seen in Hindi films historically. But at the same time, we didn't discuss the specifics of it. So I agreed to do the film because I have immense trust in him and his vision. So, you have to approach it in the way you will do an action or dance scene. Intimacy is pretty much the same thing. It has been happening in the West for years. It's just that in India it is a new concept.
