MUMBAI: Siddhant Chaturvedi was present to promote his upcoming film Gehraiyaan. The actor speaks about his take on relationship, doing intimate scenes with Deepika Padukone and what he envies about her.
What is your take on a relationship?
When you are in love, poetry doesn't work because you are so much into that relationship, the time you spend with them is poetry. So I have never written any poetry for a person I have been with. In fact I have written all my stuff when I was alone and single because I cannot not write when I'm in love with someone. And what I look at in a relationship is that someone doesn't look at me like a package and also understands that this package comes with a lot of baggage. So the person whom I am with should understand the baggage I bring in. So I really want that person to hold me when I am really down.
As a three-movie old actor, how do you perceive the intimate scenes between you and Deepika Padukone?
The team has made sure that intimacy should not be the selling point of the movie but it is the need and demand of the script which will shock the audience as viewers. Shakun Batra has made sure that the scenes look as real as possible and everyone was comfortable and bonded well on sets while performing their part and doing their job as an actor.
What do you envy about Deepika Padukone?
Deepika Padukone is such a huge star and she has been a youth icon that everybody knows. And in that level to be so simple and submissive to the director because there is always some air about these stars showing tantrums to the director. She manages her stardom and herself so well. She is a strong woman. She holds stardom and herself as Deepika Padukone a person. That's something I really envy about her.
