MUMBAI: Suriya made his production debut on OTT with Ponmagal Vandhal and the actor is now ready for his performance debut on the platform too, as per reports. Suriya might very soon collaborate with coveted filmmaker Mani Ratnam who is about to make his production debut on OTT with a web series named ‘Navarasa’, a nine part project. The digital venture will be produced by Ratnam’s home banner Madras Talkies.

The segment featuring Suriya in the lead role will be directed by 180 fame director Jayendra Panchapakeshan. While the veteran filmmaker Ratnam who is reportedly serving as the creative head of the project will direct only one segment, other directors roped in for the project include Gautham Vasudev Menon, Karthick Naren, Bejoy Namibia and Arvind Swamy.
The web series is reportedly an anthology of nine episodes, based on the ‘Navarasa’ – the nine emotions that form the emotional makeup of human beings. Each episode will focus on one intense human emotion, thus covering all the nine emotions in nine episodes.
Talking about the actor Suriya, he has a number of big promising projects in the pipeline. His next includes upcoming autobiographical drama Soorarai Pottru, which is directed by Mani Ratnam’s former associate Sudha Kongara. The movie has been produced by Suriya himself under his banner 2D Entertainment and is supposed to have a theatrical release post lockdown. His other projects include Vaadi Vaasal directed by Vetrimaaran and Aruvaa directed by Hari. The actor is also in talks with Gautham Menon for an upcoming musical love story.
