Exclusive! Iqbal Khan on OTT censorship, “Any show that has too much sex is just looked down upon”

MUMBAI: Iqbal Khan is a very popular television actor. He has been a part of TV shows like Kaisa Ye Pyar Hai, Chhoona Hai Aasmaan, Sanjog Se Bani Sangini, Tumhari Pakhi, Nima Denzongpa, and Na Umra Ki Seema Ho. But, apart from TV shows, he has also been doing OTT and has been a part of series like Crackdown 1, Crackdown 2, The Bull of Dalal Street, and others.

When it comes to OTT, there has always been a debate about the censorship on OTT. While some people feel that there should be censorship on OTT, some feel that the makers should tell their stories openly, the way they want.

TellyChakkar recently interacted with Iqbal Khan and when asked about his take on OTT censorship, the actor said, “I don’t know about censorship on OTT. But, telling you frankly, the overdose of sex on OTT, I think people are over that. Maybe it was a royalty earlier but now it’s not. People are looking out for content. In fact, any show that has too much sex is just looked down upon; that’s what I have realised.”

Iqbal was last seen in the OTT series Crackdown season 2 which premiered on Jio Cinema a few days ago. While talking about Crackdown season 3, he told us, “Crackdown 3, as of now, I don’t know. But, the people of Jio might know that.”
