Gyaraah Gyaraah REVIEW: Raghav Juyal, Kritika Kamra cop thriller grips you in an addictive time loop

Now what about we take that factor and play with it on deeper levels. While we know that situations can take place anytime, what if we play a little with the fibre of reality and control the time for when those situations take place? In that case, it’s not just reality, but super-reality...well that’s what the team of Gyaraah Gyaraah has done.

MUMBAI: When talking about OTT, it has opened up to a lot of amazing and unique content but it has become the best playground for all the creators for experimentation. This has only become a plus-point for the audience as we get to see some really out-of-the-box content and sometimes, even adaptations that can bring us to the edge of our seats.

When talking about out-of-the-box, edge-off-the-seats content, don’t we all love us some cop drama? We have watched a lot of ‘em over the years but if we refresh our memories, we might get a flashback of series like Sacred Games, The Family Man, Hostages and many more. You know one thing that really connects all these shows is not just the thrill effect but also how everything is so realistic and possible.

Gyaraah Gyaraah is surely going to emerge as a show that will take cop thriller to a different level with the ‘time’ twist but while we talk about the series, let’s avoid spoilers can we?

Going from the surface to the depth, let’s first talk about the cast and their performances. We have all watch Raghav Juyal dancing, flirting, having fun and making us all life but it seems the phase has shifted and Raghav 2.0 has emerged and how! We first got to watch Raghav Juyal’s negative shade in ‘Abhay’ and then in ‘Kill’ but this time, things are different. Raghav is not in a negative shade and looks super cool in police uniform.

Raghav Juyal has truly shown his colors (not to mention but we there’s much more to his skills than what has been revealed till now) in the series and conveyed his emotions on-point. However, he’s not the only actor we have seen winning hearts. We also have Dhairya Karwa who made his debut with ‘URI: The Surgical Strike’ starring Vicky Kaushal. While we saw him leading his way from there to projects like 83, Apurva, and Gehraiyaan, the journey brought him to Gyaraah Gyaraah wherein he plays a cop.

While the show comes with a twist that’s really fancy, what attracts us is the kind of bond that Raghav and Dhairya share on screen and it’s truly different from what we have seen till now. And while these actors have impressed us with all of their performances till now, we cannot not talk about Kritika Kamra, who has again and again left us awestruck with her acting contributions. The actor started with TV shows and stepped into movies and OTT.

In the show, Kritika Kamra, Raghav Juyal and Dhairya Karwa give some amazing performances and there’s no two way about it.

Getting a little deeper, the BGM of this 8 ep series is also something ‘grippy’. Meanwhile, we must appreciate Umesh Bist, the director of the series, for bringing on screen such a thriller stories. The show is produced by Karan Johar, Guneet Monga Kapoor, Achin Jain and Manish Kalra. When talking about the direction, it’s a pretty smooth job here with tricky frames and situations that will leave you wondering. Writing credit goes to Puja Banerji and Sunjoy Shekhar who co-wrote the series. The story is truly a unique and while there are times when you can predict what is going to happen up next, you still want to continue watching just to see it actually happening, only because the execution is good.

Yes, there are parts when you will question things like the science some things and the actual reasons behind but don’t worry, the mystery will surely distract you.
Now before we talk about what the all-in-all conclusion is, it is important to mention that the series is a Hindi adaptation of the K-Drama ‘Signal’.

Concluding the review, all-in-all, the series is pretty cool, intense at many times and seriously Raghav’s acting might also bring some tears to your eyes but ignore the science part please, after all, it’s for entertainment purpose only.

Team Tellychakkar gives this series 3/5.
