MUMBAI: Rishab Shetty starrer Kantara has turned out to be one of the biggest hits of the year. It was a Kannada film but was dubbed and released in various languages including Hindi. The Hindi dubbed version of the movie collected Rs. 79.25 crores which is higher than the collection of many Bollywood films that were released this year.

Kantara has started streaming on Amazon Prime Video in South Indian languages, but netizens are not happy with the OTT version of the film. The makers have not changed any scene or dialogue in the film, but the track Varaha Roopam, which we heard in the climax of the film has been replaced with the new version on OTT and that’s why netizens are upset.
A netizen tweeted, “I don't think I can watch #KantaraOnPrime without the original #VarahaRoopam. Just, no! That was such an integral part of the movie. After watching it three times in theatres, I'm just heartbroken and disappointed by this change. #BringBackVarahaRoopam.” Check out the tweets below…

Now, let’s see what the makers have to say about this backlash that the film’s OTT version is getting. While the South Indian versions of Kantara have premiered on OTT, Hindi audiences are waiting for the Hindi version of the movie.
This year, many Hindi dubbed versions of South films have done well at the box office. It started with Pushpa last year in December, followed by RRR, KGF: Chapter 2, Karthikeya 2, Vikram, Ponniyin Selvan: 1, and Kantara in 2022.
