MUMBAI: On Wednesday, IMDb announced the 10 Indian movies that were most popular with the platform's customers worldwide in 2025.
This annual year-end list is calculated based on the actual page views generated by the more than 250 million monthly visitors to the portal globally.
Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara, featuring Aneet Padda and Ahaan Panday, claimed the top spot in the list of the top 10 most popular Indian movies of 2025.

The romantic musical is followed by the mythological film Mahavatar Narsimha in (2) position, with Vicky Kaushal’s period drama Chhaava taking (3) place. Rishab Shetty’s highly anticipated Kantara: A Legend - Chapter 1 is ranked at number (4), followed by Coolie (5), Dragon (6), Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par (7), Deva (8), and Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 (9). The fantasy project Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra completes the list at number (10).
The list demonstrates a strong linguistic diversity, comprising five Hindi-language titles, followed by two Tamil titles, and one each in Kannada and Malayalam.
Notably, Mahavatar Narsimha, which was released in five languages simultaneously, is also the first animated movie to ever rank in an IMDb year-end Indian list.
The dominance of Saiyaara over heavily marketed, star-driven projects sends a clear message that unique narratives and fresh faces continue to captivate a global audience.
The list serves as a powerful indicator of the diverse content preferences of Indian cinema fans worldwide, proving that genuine audience interest, measured through digital traffic, can often outweigh traditional box office expectations.
