MUMBAI: Following a period in the Indian film industry, actress Rhea Chakraborty has successfully transitioned into the business world, establishing a new entrepreneurial path.
The intense public and media chaos she faced after the tragic events and subsequent criminal investigation in 2020 involving her rumoured boyfriend, Sushant Singh Rajput, profoundly impacted her public image, making a sustained career in cinema challenging.

She eventually stepped away from acting and launched a business, building a company valued at ₹40 crore in just one year.
Recently, Rhea shared her journey on a podcast, discussing the creation and philosophy behind her clothing brand, Chapter 2 Drip.
The brand’s name reflects the idea of a ‘second chance’, a concept of rising from darkness and hopelessness.
Today, the brand is valued at approximately ₹40 crore, marking a remarkable achievement in a short span.
Rhea explained that her arrest in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput case left her deeply disappointed.
Determined to forge a path outside the film world, she created a clothing brand specifically targeting the middle-class market.
Chapter 2 Drip was initially launched in August 2024 as an online store, followed by the opening of its first physical shop in June 2025.
Rhea inaugurated her brand’s first offline store in the upscale Bandra area of Mumbai.
Despite the high rental costs of the location, the venture was strongly supported by her partner, Shouvik.
The brand also successfully secured ₹1 crore in seed funding from Kishore and Aashni Biyani.
Within a year, the company’s valuation exceeded the ₹40 crore mark.
Rhea explained that she utilises her podcast as a tool to introduce the brand, engage potential investors, and share her vision.
By successfully building personal trust and clearly demonstrating growth potential, she has managed to attract necessary investment.
She firmly believes that as the brand grows, public confidence and further investment naturally follow.
The brand’s pricing reflects its focus on the middle-class consumer.
Denim is priced at ₹5,500, a standard white T-shirt costs ₹2,290, the Anti-Everything Club Vest is listed at ₹1,790, and co-ord sets begin at ₹7,990.
While Rhea recently revealed in a podcast that she would consider returning to films if an appropriate opportunity arose, her focus and success in business are undeniable.
Her journey is a compelling narrative of resilience, demonstrating how a determined entrepreneur can successfully navigate intense adversity, firmly establishing herself as a formidable figure outside the traditional confines of the entertainment industry.
