MUMBAI : Elvish Yadav made headlines as he emerged as the winner of Bigg Boss OTT Season 2, where he won Rs. 25 Lakhs and took the trophy home. He has created history as until today, no wild–card contestant has won any season of Bigg Boss. He broke the stereotype of a non–wild card winning the show.
Elvish has now been summoned by the ED in connection with the snake Venom case. The Youtuber who has a massive fan following has been accused of promoting the sale of snake venom on his Youtube channel. The ED, according to sources, has requested that Yadav appear before them for questioning after taking notice of his films endorsing the illegal trade in snake venom.
The agency has already made many arrests in relation to the case and is looking into a wider scam involving the illegal trafficking of snake venom. Yadav has a sizable fan base on YouTube, where he frequently promotes contentious products and pulls off dangerous antics. But encouraging the sale of snake venom is a serious crime, and if proven guilty, Yadav can go to jail. Yadav's summons by the ED is a component of a broader campaign to combat the illicit wildlife trafficking in the nation.
In the process of breaking up the criminal network behind the trade, the agency has already made a number of noteworthy arrests. Yadav's followers are excited to watch how this plays out and whether their idol on YouTube will be able to negotiate his way out of this difficult predicament.
