MUMBAI : Sumeet Vyas is an actor who has impressed one and all with his performances in movies, web series, and TV shows. The actor is now gearing up for his next project titled Chhatriwali which is slated to premiere on Zee5 on 20th January 2023.
TellyChakkar recently interacted with Sumeet, and spoke to him about Chhatriwali, what kind of roles he looks forward to, and more…
Last time, when you met us you said you look for projects that test your limits. So, has Chhatriwali tested your limits?
Yeah of course! Even the story is on a topic that is sensitive and people get nervous while talking about it. So, it is difficult to make such stories because in your head the thought has to be very clear like what you want, and if you are nervous about the topic then even the person who is watching it will get uncomfortable. So, that’s why it was difficult to make this movie and when we were making the film we enjoyed it a lot because the intention was not to make something titillating and sensationalizing. The intention was to make a good family entertainer.

You cannot predict a film’s box office collection. But, what’s one thing you look forward to in a project?
Yes, the box office is not something that I can predict, but what I can predict is that the role is different from something that I have done in my previous work. I see that for sure because what I have done earlier I don’t like to do it again. I enjoy working with different people; I look forward to working with different directors and actors and collaborating with different artists.
What was your first impression of meeting Tejas Deoskar and Rakul Preet Singh?
My first impression of Tejas was when we met for the first time after I read the script and I wanted to know more about the film like how he looks at the film. So, unse milke bahot maza aaya, I felt that he has amazing clarity as to what he wants to do with the film; he has no confusion about what he is making. So, after knowing it feels good that we are going to the right place where we will enjoy working. She (Rakul) is very focused and secure as an actor, and that comes when you are sure of what you are capable of. She goes to the gym in the morning at 4:30, and I did join her for a few 4:30 am gym sessions.
