MUMBAI: JioHotstar's newly launched reality showThe Society brings together 25 contestants in a high-stakes game spread across more than 200 hours of intense and engaging content. Set inside a uniquely designed house, participants are divided into three sharply contrasting social classes — Royals, Regulars, and Rags — each symbolizing a distinct level of power, privilege, and access.
Social media influencer Gargi Kundu was a part of the show, but after carefully evaluating the consequences of her decisions and taking a strong stand for herself, she chose to walk away from the show.
In an exclusive conversation with TellyChakkar.com, social media influencer Gargi Kundu opened up about her journey on The Society, from bagging the show and her bond with host Munawar Faruqui to the bold decisions that led to her exit.
Gargi shared that she had always been interested in exploring the world of reality television, and when a project like The Society came her way, she didn’t hesitate to grab the opportunity.

Reflecting on her camaraderie with host Munawar Faruqui, she said, “It was an extremely fun experience sharing the stage with Munawar. Thankfully, I didn’t get scolded by him! He roasted everyone and took their case, but in my case, it was all in good humor. He’s truly amazing.”
One of the most intense moments for Gargi came during a daring challenge where she was asked to shave her head. After giving it serious thought, she ultimately decided against it. “It was one of the toughest choices, especially for a girl. I think most girls would’ve turned it down too. Initially, I thought I’d go for it, but after considering several factors, I chose not to.”
On receiving feedback from viewers, Gargi mentioned, “I’ve been getting a lot of love from fans—most of the comments on my feed have been positive. But yes, there’s some negativity too. Adarsh’s fans are blaming me for him having to shave his head, but that’s not true. He was given a choice and he made the decision to go bald. He already has a strong fan base, thanks to his ongoing work and his popular YouTube channel.”
Through it all, Gargi has stayed true to herself, handling both praise and criticism with grace.
