The original Indian disco dancer Mithun Chakraborty turned a year older today (16th June). The award winning actor, who is known for his acting, dance moves and unconventional looks, has contributed a vast period of his life to the world of cinema. On his birthday we bring to you five lesser known facts about him. Take a look.
Mithun feels that he is an ‘irritating actor’ because he quizzes a lot of questions to his directors till he is satisfied with the answers.
He shares a great bonding with Akshay Kumar. He met Akshay for the first when the latter was helping with the lights in one of the former's photo shoots.
His first film was Mrinal Sen-directed Mrigaya ((1976).
He won Filmfare Best Villain Award and Star Screen Award Best Villain for playing dual roles of father and son in T.L.V. Prasad directed film Jallad. He really loves this film.
During the shooting of the film Zor Lagaa Ke...Haiya he had to drink water with only a straw, which he found very irritating. The film saw him play the character of a sculptor for which he had to sport only one robe and a wig and a bushy beard. He was also put through a lot of gum. Owing to the make up, he could eat only after 14 hours of shooting.]
