Abhay is more open about our relationship than I am - Preeti Desai

In an industry fraught with lies and hypocrisy when it comes to talking about relationships, Abhay Deol and his lady love Preeti Desai stand apart as a grand exception. The awesome twosome has never been coy about their relationship and neither have they tried to brush things under the carpet like other Bollywood celebs. When we asked Preeti if this was a conscious decision on their part, the pretty lass instantaneously denied the same saying that it's her beau Abhay who has been more open about their relationship. “To be honest, Abhay is more open about our relationship than I am. I slightly feel uncomfortable discussing about my relation with Abhay because I am still learning bit by bit. In the beginning, when we first met each other, we were just trying to figure each other out. It was this phase where every girl tries to know more about the other person and at such times no one knows how long or far a relationship will go. But then we were seen together and speculations of us dating came out even before we had actually started dating in reality. Then slowly, as we started liking each other, we thought it would be wise to come out into the open and put an end to all these speculations because it then became very obvious that we were dating.” Preeti, who has been in a relationship with Abhay for a long time now, reveals that she has no plans of settling down yet. “No. I am not ready to get married. I will get married only when I want to settle down and have kids. Marriage for me is a full time job. Right now, I have so much left to achieve. And plus me and Abhay are very happy being together the way we are and I don't think I need the approval or stamp of marriage for it,” concurs Preeti For someone who has been with Abhay this long, we thought of asking Preeti to list out one good and bad habit of the actor. “Well good thing is that he is very caring and bad thing is his habit of leaving his socks on the floor.” Preeti will be seen next with Abhay Deol in One by Two where she will be seen as a professional dancer. Talking about her role Preeti says, “My character is called Samara Patel who is a professional dancer. She is ambitious and passionate and will give her 100 percent to make her dreams successful.” Not having learnt dance professionally, Preeti had to put in a lot of effort and hard work to get under the skin of her character. “Samara is someone who started learning dance right from the age of four and I had to look convincing in that role. So six months prior to the filming I dedicated much of my time towards learning ballet, jazz and other forms of dance,” says Preeti. Well, let’s wait and see how well Preeti groove in this one. One By Two, co-produced by Abhay Deol, will hit theaters on 31 January (2014).
