Abhishek Bachchan rubbishes rumours of divorce with Aishwarya

The social media went abuzz yesterday when unconfirmed reports of Abhishek and Aishwarya heading for a splitsville swirled around for quite a long while. The reports that were based on mere surmises didn't contain a single quote from any of the parties concerned. The report started doing the rounds when Aishwarya left for Cannes sans her hubby Abhishek. Aishwarya who is a Cannes regular has always been accompanied by Abhishek post their marriage. Reportedly, the hubby had to give Cannes a skip this time as he's busy shooting for Happy New Year which is racing against time to complete its schedule. But his absence was enough to start malicious rumours of the much-in-love couple heading for a separation. The report pinned the blame on mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan and her domineering and restrictive nature which was alleged to be the bone of contention. Jaya's conservative approach was going against Aishwarya, alleged the report. When the divorce rumours reached Abhishek's ears, the amused actor had a hearty laugh. Taking to Twitter, Abhishek wrote: "Ok...So I believe I'm getting divorced. Thanks for letting me know! Will you let me know when I'm getting remarried too? Thanks#muppets."
